Oh Christmas Tree!

Thank God, everyone around me had a healthy, happy and safe Christmas.  I’m so thankful to be able to say that this year, because last year wasn’t so healthy for me.  This time last year, I was curled up in the fetal position on my couch, unable to move because of severe stomach cramps.  It started on Nov. 28 and by Dec. 27 last year, I had lost 20 pounds.  Hell of a way to reach a goal weight, no?

It got so bad that on Jan. 2, I finally went to the hospital emergency room with no intentions of leaving.  I was admitted immediately and was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis.  Jump ahead to Jan. 30, and I’m in the operating room having my entire large bowel removed.  I wasn’t too happy at the time, but a year later, I’m quite thankful to be alive and healthy and eating everything in sight!

I also wanted to share with you my beautiful, beautiful Christmas tree!  After not having a tree last year, I wanted a giant, bushy big tree, and that’s what I got!   And luckily, as opposed to yearly tradition, this one didn’t fall!  It came sooooo close, however, that I had to UNdecorate it, reset it in the base and decorate it again.  Here’s the finished product, and I love it!  I just might leave it up!2013 Xmas tree.2 002

I am so thankful for my family and friends, and I truly wish all of you a health, happy and safe 2014!
