Well, it’s come and gone, and I have to say what a magical evening it was.

In no way did I ever expect 600+ people to come, but they did!  I was hoping for 250! As I peeked around the side of the stage and saw all those people – even those in the balcony – I couldn’t help but shake!  See, we had closed the balcony for the videographer as well as some lighting equipment, but it soon became necessary to open it for seating!  How cool is that.

It’s really hard for me to express how I was feeling; I was so unbelievably happy that the CDs had come in; you see, there was a shipping error and on the Wednesday before the launch on Saturday, they were on their way to Newfoundland.  Simply put, I was numb.  I couldn’t believe it.  After all that work and the juggling on the part of the manufacturer to ensure I’d get them in time, the shipper made a stupid mistake and sent them to the wrong place.

Long story short, thanks to the depot in Moncton, NB, I got them on Friday, the day before, at 12:30pm.

Sooooo, after all that, then seeing all these people, I was buzzing.  Not only that, but admission to the concert was food for the food bank.  Towards the end of the night, a cell phone was passed to the stage, and on that phone was a text saying that 1800 pounds of food and $400 had been raised for the food bank!  OK, that still makes me teary.

There was so much support and love in that church – you could almost see it, and I’m so grateful, thankful, humbled, pleased, excited and every other adjective in the book.

The musicians were just beyond.  Jon Matthews is really the kingpin; he produced and engineered the album, as well as providing backup harmonies and a bunch of instrumentation and he was instrumental in helping get this concert together.  Without him, I don’t think things would have happened the way they did.

Musicians were:  Drums – Kirk White / Bass – Jon Matthews (also accordian and acoustic guitar) / Keys – Johnny Ross and Sean Ferris / Electric guitar – Chris Corrigan / Fiddle – Richard Wood / Cello – Natalie Williams Calhoun / Grade 5 & 6 Honours Choir, led by my sister, Kim Mooney from Eliot River School, and certainly not least – the backup singers.  They were incredible!  Beautiful women – Laura Morgan and Belinda Doyle.

Thank you all.  It was beyond my wildest expectations.
